Life: G. hexagonus is a deeper dwelling, temperate to tropical species. It is typically rare in the modern ocean. Distinguishing features: This species has oval to spherical chambers and trochospiral coiling. Final chamber is often small or bulla-like. Spiral side is almost flat.
