A Spinose Planktic Foraminifera

Life: B. digitata is a symbiont bearing shallow dwelling, temperate to tropical common species in the modern ocean.
Distinguishing features: This species has long oval (digitate) chambers and trochospiral coiling. Typical adult size is >250 microns.
Other names: Globigerina digitata
