Candeina nitida
Life: C. nitida is a non-spinose planktic foraminifera common in warm tropical to sub-tropical waters of the modern ocean. Distinguishing features: C. nitida has a microperforate texture, sutural supplementary apertures completely surrounding the final chambers, and 3 chambers in the final whorl. The 2 scanned specimens were obtained from plankton tows near Green Island, Taiwan and were still full of cytoplasm at the time of collection.
