Dentigloborotalia anfracta
Life: D. anfracta is a non-spinose deeper dwelling planktic foraminifera. This species is abundant in temperate waters of the modern ocean. Distinguishing features: Species has a small low trochospiral shell and 4-5 chambers in the final whorl that are kidney shaped. The aperture is umbilical-extraumbilical and bordered by a thick lip. The test surface of this species is smooth with shark-tooth like pustules. Typical adult size <150 microns. Other names: Tenuitella anfracta More information: mikrotax; Brummer & Kucera, 2022 |
