Globigerinoides conglobatus
Life: G. conglobatus is a spinose shallow dweller symbiont bearing species that is a common warm water (tropical to warm subtropical) species in the modern ocean.
Distinguishing features: G. conglobatus is a spinose species of foraminifera with a low to medium trochospiral test and four overlapping chambers in the final whorl. It has a tropical to subtropical distribution. Round to triangular spines, large pores, and dinoflagellate symbionts are common features of G. conglobatus. Typical adult size >250 microns.
