Globigerinita minuta
Life: G. minuta is a non-spinose species that is present in tropical and subtropical waters and common in temperate waters of the modern ocean. Two genetic lineages are endemic to the Indo-Pacific and the Atlantic. Distinguishing features: G. minuta is a microperforate species with a medium-high trochospiral shell, four chambers in the final whorl, and a characteristic highly arched round aperture with a thin lip, and a secondary aperture on the spiral side. The shell may have pustules and a bulla may cover the primary aperture of mature individuals, like G. glutinata. Typical adult size <150 microns.
